The Deputy Ministry of Culture announces an Architectural Competition aiming at the design and implementation of the project concerning the construction of the building of the State Archives in Lefkosia.

Through the procedure of the Architectural Competition, the Deputy Ministry of Culture seeks to ensure the best possible solution for the State Archives building and the outdoor spaces, regarding the spatial, urban, architectural, functional, aesthetic, cultural, environmental, economic and construction side, and assign the award-winning architect the completion of the study and the supervision of the implementation of the project, according to the defined program. After the completion of the Competition, the Deputy Ministry of Culture will proceed with the implementation of Phase A of the construction of the project, while the implementation of Phase B will take place at a later stage as specified in the tender documents.

The project comprises interior spaces with a total gross floor area of approximately 10,000 sq.m., of which approximately 5,000 sq.m. are underground spaces, as well as the development of the outdoor areas and parking facilities, the landscaping, and the fencing of the site covered by the Competition.

The estimated value of the project, based on the prices in force at the date of submission of the study, will be 17.000.000,00 euros, excluding VAT.

The official language of the Competition and the Contract, as well as of all documents required for the completion of the study of the winning proposal, the supervision and management of the project, is Greek.

The Competition is conducted in accordance with the Regulations for the Conduct of Architectural Competitions of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce.

The Jury will evaluate the submitted proposals and award the best, with the following awards and distinctions:

1st Prize       € 72,500.00  

2nd Prize      € 54,500.00  

3rd Prize       € 36,500.00  

Praises (up to three) € 14,500.00 each.
