Job Vacancy for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer
Cybarco, a leading company in the construction industry and proud member of the Lanitis Group, is currently looking to recruit a high calibre Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the implementation of the company's Quality, Health, Safety & Environment policy and makes concrete suggestions for the revision when necessary.
• Ensures full compliance regarding Health & Safety in accordance with ISO 45001:2018 which is effectively implemented, improved and maintained in the company Plans and coordinates internal audits and informs involved parties as appropriate.
• Arranges external audits of the QMS in cooperation with the certification body Executes and implements the responsibilities and duties arising from the implementation of the QMS Implements the approved changes of the QMS documents.
• Suggests changes and modifications of the QMS, where appropriate.
• Preparation of the Health and Safety Plan of all projects.
• Undergoes site inspections to find out any potential health and safety risks caused by machinery, procedures, behaviour at work, substances and working methods.
• Provides recommendations and methods to be implemented to prevent accidents and sickness in the workplace.
• Undertakes risk assessments and recommends appropriate measures to eliminate or reduce risks.
• Investigates all accidents, near misses and any dangerous acts and prepares appropriate reports.
• Monitors the Site Health & Safety Coordinators regarding all health and safety issues of the site.
• Ensures that the Health and Safety Plans of the projects are enforced and reviews where necessary.
• Identifies personnel training needs and assists in the preparation of the training programme regarding Health & safety issues in cooperation with the Human Resources Manager Responsible for conducting Health & Safety exercises (e.g., fire drills, etc.) at the company’s premises.
• Submits recommendations for control measures to be implemented in order to avoid accidents and occupational diseases on the site, as well as environmental effects as a result of the work.
• Investigation of all accidents, incidents and other hazardous events and the preparation and submission of reports to the relevant monitoring Committee.
• Accompany the inspectors of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security during the conduct of inspections.
• Participates in the safety committees.
• Collates all letters and documents sent to the company by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security on related matters, and ensures and monitors the compliance of the company with the recommendations of the inspectors of the Ministry.
• To this end, works closely with all managers and engineers of the company.
• Cooperates with any external consultants of the company in matters within his authority.
• Organises the election of the safety representatives and the establishment of Safety Committees as well as to comply with the provisions of the relevant legislation.
• Prepares and submits to the relevant committee of the company at the end of each year, a report in relation to the progress in the implementation of the company's Quality, Health, Safety & Environment policy.
• To be continuously aware of developments in his field and to update and address the management relating to the continuous improvement to the working environment in the company.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• University Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Member of ETEK.
• Minimum 10 years related experience in Health & Safety in the construction industry.
• Knowledgeable of current Health & Safety legislation.
• Proven track record of training and certification in various H&S fields (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills in both English & Greek.
