Απαιτούμενα προσόντα και εμπειρία:

• MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (Essential)

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer, Masters in Civil Engineering (Desirable)

• At least 5 years experience in Civil/Structural Engineering and associated experience in design.

• Familiarity/knowledge of Building Regulations UK, Health and Safety legislation, construction Codes of Practice, British Standards, Eurocodes (in particular Eurocode 8-Seismic) including National Annexes.

Job Purpose:

To assist the Design Manager in the preparation of designs for Asbestos Works and M&T works; to assist in the management of the production of designs by external consultants; to be the focal point for the delivery of all the M&T Projects; to prepare CIDP funded self-delivered surveys / reports / assessments / appraisals; to assist the Design Manager in the delivery of the Building Control Advisor function for the construction phase of “Controlled” works; to carry out the Akr Airfield Monthly Inspection and produce reports.

Responsibilities

• To prepare a number of designs for the CIDP main line entries or the above IRL repairs in relation to Masts & Towers (M&T).  (The Masts & Towers WAP is self-delivered by Mitie).  Knowledge of preparing structural computer models and running structural analysis programmes is required for this task.

• To prepare Designs for other self-delivered CIDP works (such as asbestos removal works).  Where workload does not allow in-house designs to be developed, to assist the Design Manager in the engagement of external consultants by preparing the required documentation and liaising with the Commercial section and to ensure the quality and timely preparation of these designs.

• To be the focal point for the delivery of all the M&T Projects and to assist with the delivery of other self-delivered works.

• To carry out a number of CIDP funded self-delivered Surveys/Reports/Structural Assessments/inspections/appraisals within competency, outside the Schedules A&B delivery.

• To provide regular updates of progress for both design and delivery of the self-delivered projects by updating the MAXIMO database so that accurate reports can be issued.

• To assist with the construction inspection of the B&C elements of Major Projects, in Liaison with the Senior Project Manager.

• To assist in the delivery of the “Building Control Advisor” function for the construction phase, in liaison with the Design Manager and the Discrete Works Manager.  This task includes for preparing the Construction Certificate following regular inspections of the controlled works to include a minimum of 7 areas of inspections: excavations for foundations, concrete foundations, DPC, drains & drains testing, Building complete) for the CIDP delivered works.

• To carry out the monthly inspection of the Akrotiri Airfield and prepare a detailed report to the format agreed by the Discrete Works Manager.  To ensure that actions following the report are completed and that the remedial works identified are processed for client approval and delivery by the Supply Chain.  To ensure that urgent remedials are escalated to the appropriate level.  In the event that this task is outsourced (depending on workload) to manage the delivery of the task through an external consultant and ensure that actions are taken forward.

• To provide technical assistance/support as required to other ISP staff supporting works activities, within the discipline and competence, as required by the Discrete Works Manager/Deputy Account Director and the Design Manager.
